Hi, I’m Ansley Whitlock. I intend on
majoring in Political Science, minoring in health policy and management, and
earning a certificate degree in disability studies while in college.
After college, I plan on attending law school and becoming a health care
attorney, focusing on helping those who need it the most. My younger sister has spina bifida meningocele, so I’ve had first-hand
experience with how difficult it can be for families to deal with disabilities
and the expenses that they can entail. I feel like it’s my life’s purpose
to try and help others who find themselves in similar situations.
My ultimate goal is to become a U.S. Senator, and try to get back to the root
of the problems by challenging laws that support big businesses and corporations
rather than the people that they’re supposed to support. In high school, I’ve tried to work towards these goals by joining classes such as AP Government
and groups such as the Georgia Secretary of State Student Ambassadors Program, as well as volunteering with the Statesboro Special Olympics to try and learn as much as I can about helping different people with disabilities. Thank you so much for your time!
