Ngati Hine’s Sir Ralph Norris wins top Maori business award

An award first presented
seven years ago to honour excellence
of Maori in business. The Outstanding Maori
Business Leader for 2010 went to Sir Ralph Norris
of Ngati Hine and the research company for
the Pink and White Terraces in the Bay of Plenty. He is no stranger to success
in the business world. There was no turning
back after that, but to continue a journey
that began in the 60s. From humble beginnings as an
intern at Mobil Oil NZ, to becoming CEO of the ASB Bank, the Commonwealth Bank of
Australia’s NZ subsidiary. He is now the Chief
Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bank
of Australia. But it doesn’t end there. Indeed one needs to
be a hard worker. Others were also acknowledged
for their work. Expanding the event will
bring more benefits. As one needs to grow these
ideas to support a full staff. No doubt, these are our examples
in the business field. Tini Molyneux, Te Karere.
