McCombs Minute | February 20, 2020 | McCombs School of Business

Hi everyone, here is this week’s McCombs
Minute. IROM professor Tricia Moravec was featured on KUT this week in a
lengthy interview highlighting her fake news research. John Sibley Butler’s
extensive essay about black enterprise and black entrepreneurship was featured
in the Washington Examiner, and the McCombs MBA class of 2021 was featured in Poets and Quants. In our Big Ideas faculty research, according to a new poll
and new research from finance professor Laura Starks, action on climate change is
coming from an unexpected source. And according to the research of BGS
professor Adam Cobb, getting rid of directors who serve on too many
corporate boards can come at a serious cost. Check out the research and the link
below. In the McCombs calendar if you’ll be in New York, there’s a New York for Accountants alumni reception coming up in March and later in the month, the
founder of Alamo Drafthouse Tim League will give a talk as part of the Herb
Kelleher VIP speaker series. Click below to check out more McCombs
events. That’s this week’s McCombs Minute, have a great rest of your week, everybody!
