In der Mitte sitzen? Egypt Air Business Class 777-300ER | GlobalTraveler.TV

Hello and welcome to a brand new Tripreport today! I’m all alone here in Cairo in the Egypt Air lounge. I’m having a little snack, I’ve been here for three hours and soon I will fly with Egypt Air in it’s 777 Business Class. (don’t forget to recharge!) Flight time is going to be approximately 5,5 hours to London-Heathrow. As said I’m pretty excited especially how the seats are going to be… I took an A330 on the way here and these seats really weren’t comfortable. To top it all off it was a night flight today is a day flight, so it’s not as important. Very interesting: apparently I’m going to sit in the middle… …that sounds like a pretty interesting experience! Oh well, we’re on final call already, although it said 8:40 is boarding time and it’s even 2 minutes before that! Alright, now I finally made it, unfortunately I couldn’t film how I boarded because it was a huge chaos once again here in Cairo. I don’t even know what the Egyptians problem is: I carried my drone with me, which is in my hand luggage because you’re not allowed to but in in your suitcase since they have these big lithium batteries. That’s pretty common. But here in Cairo the drone has to go down into the freight compartment because here it’s not allowed in the cabin! So that’s why there was a huge chaos, back and forth and I was the last one to board. Which is also why I couldn’t film they really had an eye on me then somehow in Egypt they seem scared of espionage. So anyways, now I’m here and apparently the cabin isn’t fully booked while the seat map showed all seats but the last row full… But now there is still a few empty seats. The 777 300ER by Egypt Air features a 2-3-2 configuration similar to Emirates. So there is two cabins, I’m seated in the further back one in the front one there is Business Class only. The chaos really doesn’t come to an end today, now the seat I was in was indeed booked, so I had to switch seats again, to the middle. So unfortunately, in a 2-3-2 I won’t be able to sit at the window. Initially, I planned to sit in the first cabin, also in the middle, but it was pretty packed there, so I decided to move to the back where it was empty but somehow whoever rebooked this didn’t mention its fully booked here too and that people are moving all around, so it’s absolutely crazy here today. So now I’m here in the middle, but it’s only 4,5 hours anyways to London, so that’s going to be okay. The only downside in the middle is: I can’t look out of the windows! At every seat there is a bag which contains a blanket, I didn’t find a pillow yet and maybe there’s an amenity kit, I had one on the way here, but that was a night flight, so maybe there isn’t one now. Also didn’t find the headphones… oh wait, here they are! These are the headphones – pretty cheap! Thankfully I took my Bose with me, because the entertainment system isn’t even that bad. There is a few movies that are with german audio, blockbuster as well, that I didn’t see yet. As well as shows, mostly in english, you can listen to music… Unfortunately there is no flight map, but you can see it up there. What else? The seat is the same as in the A330, the configuration is 2-3-2, but the seat is similar. It does not feature a 180-degree bed, it’s just a tilted seat, a slide basically, between 160-170° lying surface. Which is pretty uncomfortable, especially if you’re looking to sleep – not very restful! Egypt Air also operates this plane all the way to Los Angeles, USA which is a 10 hours+ flight – unbelievable! I could never sit here for over ten hours I think… But they just now got their first Dreamliner, the 787-9 which features an actual Business Class namely a reverse herringbone in a 1-2-1 as seen in Qatar Airways and many other well known airlines, that sounds really nice, I would try that – but this product here? Not again… There is a bottle of water at every seat too. By the way, there is no welcome drink as in Champagne – Egypt Air is a “dry airline” but you can, if you like, bring your own beer or wine and then you receive a glass with ice so you can enjoy it. Strawberry juice – never had that before on a plane! Alright we’re on our way now, it’s a little noisy now but I just wanted to tell you that Egypt Air is part of Star Alliance and through that you can collect miles pretty easily with Miles and More from Lufthansa. They offer 200% for the Business Class on status and frequent flyer miles for Lufthansa Miles and More. Which is quite a lot, especially if you use Egypt Airs comparatively cheap fare: so, for the flight from Johannesburg to London you pay 900€ was the current price that’s pretty cheap for one way, with return flight just over 1000€ that’s pretty cheap. And it’s also possible starting from Europe to South Africa, the US or Asia – Egypt Air isn’t my preferred Airline but if you’re looking to save miles status or frequent flyer miles, Egypt Air might be an alternative for you! Welcome to the restroom which is located between the two Business Class cabins. Oh and there is some more amenities than on the last flight in the A330. There is air refreshener, hand disinfection, soap and yeah that’s it, towels and water of course. There is no cups, they would be in the amenity kit, but that is not available on a day flight. (front cabin) As said, Egypt Air is a “dry airline” which means there is no alcohol, no wine, no champagne, but that’s okay, I’ll just have a coke. Look, there is an amenity kit indeed! This time there even is a menu! On our trip from Johannesburg to Cairo there wasn’t one we only had the choice between meat, chicken and fish – but without a menu, but now we have one and one for the drinks as well. So there is a starter, with salad and marinated shrimps and then I can choose between meat, fish or better seafood and chicken and a vegetarian option on top – 4 choices! And afterwards you can have cheese or fruit and a desert. Alright, photos are a must, to show you guys everything in detail. So as said there was four options and they are pre-served on this tray and then you can choose, I picked the beef, since seafood wasn’t really my best choice. Let’s see! Made it to London-Heathrow, the 5 or 4,5 hours passed by pretty quickly. I watched two movies, I originally wanted to sleep but didn’t since there was some food again as well, which was quite good. The crew was, again really nice, I thought I might see them a bit dismissive but I was pretty impressed. Only the food was, again not really my favorite… I think… Egypt Air can’t really compete with catering and with the seats as well, if I wanted to sleep here, I couldn’t have, as said it’s a slide bed maximum is 170, rather 165 degrees and pretty though, not my favorite. I now hope my luggage has made it to London I now have to get both bags as well as my hand luggage since I had to leave that with the drone inside. I really hope the drone is still in there! Keep your fingers crossed for me! I’ll give you a final summary after I got my bags but I’ll say bye and thanks for watching already! Subscribe to the channel, haven’t said that in a while and give us a thumbs up, that’s also very important for YouTube and YouTube videos because through that you can show me if you enjoyed the video! See you for the next Tripreport – Ciao! There we have the two! I think there he is! I’m lucky today and it’s pretty heavy, so it’s probably in there. I’ll check that later. That was lucky, but it’s all good now. Thanks for watching, see you! (You get a glass with… “cool cubes” …ice cubes!)

Weiter so, gewohnte Qualität! Harte Arbeit, allles nur für uns begeisterten! 💪🏻👍🏻

Vielen Dank an euch! Weiter so!!
