Here are the most ‘valuable’ college majors today

DAVID: ACODEING CALCULUS AND ALGEBRA COULD COST GRAD WAWGHTS IN THE LONG RUN. THE MOST OF VALUABLE COLLEGE MAJORS INCLUDE NAVAL ARCHITECTURE, MARINE AND NUCLEAR ENGINEERING AND PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES. THE LEAST VALUABLE IN TERMS OF MAKING A LIVING. DRAMA, THEATER ARTS. ARE ARTS MAJORS WASTING THEIR MONEY?>>THEY ARE BORROWING A HECK OF A LOT OF IT. THAT’S WHAT’S SO FRUSTRATING ABOUT THE SUBJECTS DOES THAT PERMITS A STUDENT TO BORROW $100,000 A YEAR OR MORE FOR AN ARTS DEGREE THAT WILL NEVER PAY OFF. IF YOU WANT TO FIX EDUCATION, GET THE GOVERNMENT OUT AND YOU WILL SEE THE RESULTS IMPROVE AND YOU WILL SEE STUDENTS BUILD.>>SHOCKED THAT THE ENGINEER DEGREES PAY MORE THAN THE ARTS DEGREES. IF YOU ARE GOING TO COLLEGE BECAUSE YOU WANT TO EARN MORE MONEY, YOU NEED TO LOOK FOR A RETURN ON YOUR INVESTMENT. IT MEANS YOU CAN’T TAKE ON MORE DEBT THAN YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE FIVE YEARS OUT. YOU NEED TO DO A RETURN ON INVESTMENT. IF YOU ARE PURSUING AN ARTS DEGREE THAT’S ONLY GOING TO MAKE $30,000 TO $40,000. IF YOU ARE GOING TO PAY SIX FIGURES FOR THAT, YOU WILL NEVER GET OUT OF THAT DEBT.>>WE DIDN’T NEED A STUDY TO KNOW THE DIFFERENCE HERE. OBVIOUS LOITER DEGREES WILL MAKE A LOT MORE MONEY. BUT WE NEED TO INVOKE FINANCIAL LITERACY EARLY ON IN SCHOOL. GRADE SCHOOL, RIGHT? AND WE NEED TO TEACH IF YOU ARE GOING TO GET THE DEGREE IN LIBERAL ARTS, WHAT’S THE NET PRESENT VALUE. DAVID: JACKIE?>>MOST OF PEOPLE DON’T TAKE OUT $100,000 IN DEBT FOR ATHEATER

  1. They shouldn't give loans for college and if they are going to, give 50% of the medium pay rate in the private sector annual salary level. DUH! I am a high school drop out, got a GED, started a business at 15 yrs.old, still going in the same business for 49 yrs. now and made on average 200k a yr., college diploma guys sweep my shop floor, they don't have any more skill than a high school diploma guy.

  2. Look im not going to be too negative, i like to be rational and open minded.

Look, if you have the money such as (full ride, scholarships, grants,) by hell go have fun, get that gender studies degree, you're getting it for free.

At the same time, dont expect to get a $100,000 job straight out of college or down the road for that matter

  3. Save your money, kids, and start a business. You will be your own boss, will not owe six figures for a so-called college education, and you will be far better off financially than your friends who bought into the college education scam.

  4. The validity of a college degree?
"If you have a high school diploma …and can walk and talk…you can graduate from college today"
Jerome Murphy, Dean of Harvard's School of Education
    1998

  5. The problem is that these liberal professors are telling the students of worthless degrees that they should be earning 6 figures straight out of college. Get your foot in the door and if you are valuable to them, you will be compensated accordingly.

  6. When I went to college nobody said anything about stem degrees. Just to get a degree to advance in the workplace. It was all a lie. And you don't just go get a stem degree. If you don't have the aptitude you fail.

  7. I had a mandatory finance class that taught about saving money, having a checking account, etc… my daughter's never learned that. I had to teach them. Why do they not teach children today these simple ideas. it's sad!

  8. Great, go to the WH and fill out applications for some of those jobs the republicans have open up. LOL
    Bring toys!!!

  9. Most valuable STEM least valuable ARTS. And all the art people wonder why the STEM people dont want STEAM with its parasitic arts attachment.

  10. As someone from med school I think these guys are over-simplifying the situation here. I think that America as the center of the world needs a lot of sociologists, psychologists and lawyers… Their work is maybe more valuable than ours to be honest it's just that these people don't understand it.

  11. I worked full time throughout college and had already started my career when I got my B.S. I’m not about to pay for some snowflake’s student loan with my tax dollar!

  12. The largely Socialist bent seats of so called "Learning", have been busy subverting, and crippling America's youth at every rung of their educational ladder towards their successful, and employment marketable, scholastic achievement endeavors.
The Federally funded Institutions engaged in these subversive anti-American indoctrination practices must be held to account for their treacherous misdeeds which account for so many of the problems our youth is facing today.
Their funding must be withdrawn if they choose to continue to allow these indoctrinating practices to continue unchecked.
"We The People" require, and demand, that all American teachers, professors, and American educational administrators whom seek to covertly, or openly subvert America's youth towards any kind of anti-American ideological views, and, or, non factual gender alternative misconceptions, without advance parental notice, and permission, be fired immediately, and permanently banned from the American Educational system indefinitely.
We demand that all antiquated, and, or non-employment marketable filler courses, be stricken from the list of required courses, and demoted to non required elective courses that explicitly state their costs, and their lack of relevance to otherwise necessary, and required courses germane to their chosen career, and, or vocational goals.
The implementation, and strict adherence to these pro-American Value rules, will greatly reduce the costs of Education in America, and will greatly shorten the time it takes for a student to reach their scholastic goals, while simultaneously shrinking the duration, and the amount of loan debt incurred by American students, and their parents.
The wide spread economically detrimental practice of purposefully exhausting the Educational Budget, solely to garner more federal funding by discarding still functional, and, or serviceable classroom equipment, furniture, and supplies must be abolished, and those whom endeavor to continue the practice should be held to account as well.
All surplus funds should be reported as such, and any reasonable budgetary increase requests should be applied for, with specified, and verifiable, necessity in mind.
The potentially tremendous savings that the implementation of this new practice will accrue, can help bolster, not only the pay for our best, and most passionately dedicated educators, but can further reduce the cost of education for every legally present American citizen student of all ages.
The restoration of American pride, and pro-American values, and traditions to the classroom atmosphere will greatly benefit, further strengthen, and preserve our benevolent, and beloved, American Constitutional Republic's legacy of "Freedom", for all future generations of Americans to come.
All those whom do not love this country, and it's Constitutionally afforded freedoms, rights, and benevolent self governance can seek out their preferred anti-American ideologically inclined educations elsewhere!!!

  13. I don’t know really. I received a liberal arts degree with a science minor . I was employed in the science field before graduation. Eventually however, I ended up in sales, where literally any degree would have sufficed. I made vastly more in sales than I ever thought possible. In fact, there were three engineers in my sales field that had masters of engineering degrees from Top tier schools. What is important changes. If everyone thinks this major or that major is the ticket for success, the market becomes saturated with graduates, and job opportunities and salaries decline. But, I do think certain majors shouldn’t be a thing. Perhaps just electives, if one desires exposure. And if you choose to major in art, music, and such, perhaps add more immediately marketable skills to your schedule as well.

  14. Company I work for hires laborers at $18/hr and if you can weld, $25/hr to start. Stop telling every kid they have to go to college and the problem will sort itself out. We literally can't get enough guys to do all the work we have. There are days where there's one or two trucks sitting at the shop because there's just not enough employees to crew them. We have 22 year old kids operating as foreman on jobs, because there's just more work than there are guys willing to do it. And those kids do well. I work with kids in their early 20s that drive new cars, have their own places with live in girlfriends, and this is in New Jersey where the cost of living is sky high.

  15. This is an odd study. The most profitable degrees are not STEM but finance and business. If you want to make $100k when you graduate, get an EE degree. If you want to make $200k when you graduate, go into finance/investment banking. But if you want a real education, get a liberal arts degree.

  16. Im getting a CS degree and specialized in graphics engineering already, but didnt quite finish yet. I plan on specializing in AI, which both can pay well above the median incomes of what is listed there. Like if youre actually good at it and constantly learning and wanting to be better, you will make more than all of those.

Also…. you can get a bachelors for under 10k.

  17. 💲tudy 💲TEM
    Or avoid THEM colleges.

Also, switching to MGTOW can save you 50% or more. What's in your wallet? 😉
    MGTOW forever FTW! 🇺🇸🗽💲📈🏡🏖️

  18. You don't even need to go to school to learn how to think.
Join the military and you get paid to learn how to think!

  19. Fake news, my feeling said that gender study is the number one.
Your fact and statistic is sexist and racist.

And this shows that gender pay gap is real!
How dare they pay engineer higher than liberal artist.

  20. Went to community college saved like 30k, not same quality education but its usually the responsibility of the student to make the education worthwhile.

  21. Go to a trade school if you go, we need more plumbers, electricians ect. Mike Row of dirty jobs is right, never will you find a whinnying liberal that owes a lot of money for a useless degree .

  22. If students have to earn their living to study in a university, maybe they would demand a REAL EDUCATION from their professors and they wouldn't have time for those nonsense demonstrations and related activities against the Right!

  23. Leftists know these facts. They just think that capitalism is evil because art majors and snowflake study graduates earn less than engineers. Anybody can read and memorize leftist propaganda and write it from memory in the mid terms but not anyone can understand maths and chemistry.

  24. My arts degrees daughter is supporting herself comfortably, she has no college debt and her degree gets her higher per hour teaching jobs, masterclass jobs, admin jobs that supplements her performing job.. But keep saying this so the arts job market isn't saturated.

  25. My BS medical science degree did not have me getting paid more than average salary, chemistry/biology. But I had minimal college debt in 1985

  26. I knew a woman who had been going to college for 12 years and didn't have a degree. She kept changing her major because  she didn't know what she wanted.

  27. Many graduates with STEM degrees are not getting jobs. Some do, many don't. Corporatists want their H1b visa low wage payed slaves instead for the few jobs that do exist. I know because I have a STEM degree. Most of our Industrial and technology base has deliberately been offshored to Asia and the STEM jobs have gone with it. Go into Medical instead, now that is a racket.

  28. The ones in drama can only be salvaged by the despicable Hollywood predators in which they must sell their soul to the devil 👿 to succeed in their business otherwise they are left looking in from outside. Of course most would sell their soul to pursue their careers in that field.

  29. You dont need to pay someone 100k to indoctrinate you and give you a piece of paper that isnt worth what its printed on. Liberal arts are classes are for morons who dont want to do math.

  30. Somebody's got to make the hammer. Somebody's got to drive the nail. Somebody's got to discover new atoms. Someone's got to deliver the mail.

  31. Young people need to be taught how to think? If you have to teach someone in college how to think then I do believe that our education system needs a complete overhaul. Besides, it is much more profitable to teach them what to think, which is exactly what is happening today.

  32. Why does this surprise anyone? My favorite is when students protest with signs saying "How am I supposed to pay off my $XXXX student loan debt?" You work, idiot. And just like this video said, if your chosen (yes, you chose it) occupation, pays less than what you owe on a loan (simple math), you fail in life.

  33. The very last 20 seconds guy is a moron because liberal arts degrees are generally taught by ultra liberal people that teach you what to think not how to think

  34. This report is spot on as I recently finished a doctorate with $209,000 in student loan debt. Fortunately, I graduated with a Pharmacist Degree and have made $70,000 in my first 6 months. Currently, I stand at $155,000 in dept with plans to have it paid off by the end of 2020. Essentially, I'm living on $800 a month and putting everything else into paying off my student loans. Other students in my class are not as financially adept and have opted to go into a 30 year repayment plan in which they will end up paying $330,000+ and then have to pay taxes on the rest if it is forgiven. Problem nowadays is that students decide they don't want to pay back their loans and would rather opt for socialism and communism to get out of paying off those loans. A very slippery and dangerous slope we have brewing in those colleges of socialism. So glad I got out with the ability to think on my own.

  35. why is hollywood rich if arts & theatre pay so low?
Stop supporting these filthy pigs and their perverted anti American agenda.

  36. I have a Physics B.S. (with a Math minor) and make $18k as a graduate student. I couldn't find work when I graduated, besides tutoring. Jobs either specifically required engineering degrees or Ph.D. degrees. These numbers don't explain whether it's the median of just the people working in these jobs rather than all graduates, and whether these are entry level salaries or if they include senior positions, or other requirements needed to attain such salaries (negotiating, network connections, etc.).

  37. Art majors can make some serious money. This is coming from a computer engineer / art guru. I have personally ran several businesses. Some of them that dealt in engineering related art supplies. Others that delt in pre-painted real Warhammer Models imported from India. You can make some serious money. I have known several men who started a pottery painting business that makes their families engineering salary. The grandson of Basha's food and drug who lives a mile from me, and runs a milti-million dollar import business buying and selling custom jewelry pieces. His gun collection is out of this world. Almost all art majors now days go into business. This is why some business course work is required to get a art degree now days.

  38. Is this an advertisement, for the upper east coast or rather slightly all coastal areas with contractors solely in line for naval contracts now and obviously with future aspirations, including lobbyist ; )

  39. Yes, there are STEM jobs avaliable but the field is way too saturated. The pay in the STEM field job is decreasing day by day due to the competition. Mostly everyone who is working a job in the STEM field is getting underpaid. Best thing to do is open your own buisness or rely on welfare. Majority of the STEM field jobs are getting automated or are temporary jobs with minimal to no benefits. This video is misleading.

  40. Arts degrees do not teach you how to think, and the proof is in the rhetoric coming out of the mouths of leftists everywhere. Time to put that centuries (millennial?) age-old argument to rest.

  41. Obviously yes they are. the biggest problem is lazy students paying rent and buying cars with there loans.
if you borrow $250k to become a dr that makes that per year obviously thats a more than good investment.
but still many dont pay it off they just pay the minimum which raises the interest thats totalled and used by protestrs.

  42. When taxpayers are forced to pay for tuition then taxpayers should have a say in what courses students take
I took hard science, was forced to take some stupid liberal arts courses. I made well over six figures Have zero debt and saved some serious money
