Digital Labor with Workflow: Add Business Automation Workflow to RPA

hello and welcome to the IBM automation digital labor with workflow demonstration first now review of robotic process automation which enables companies to easily automate repetitive tasks in order to free up their employees for higher value work no changes to existing user interfaces are required and you can boost errors to zero across high volumes of enterprise work so how does IBM Drive automation across digital labor we achieve that through combined robotics with holistic automation in this demonstration you’ll learn about not only the software robots or the hands of our human individual but also the central nervous system of coordination and orchestration in the IBM digital business automation platform this takes the role of task automation as well as workflow holistic automation let’s look at the scenario for our demonstration today invoice entry overall we have a robotic task of entry at the bottom entering the invoice data and we also have necessary human based workflow that may be required if data is missing as we zoom in the upper right hand corner we can see the two roles that will be involved in entering that data locating it in a system that may not be accessible to the robot and also reviewing and approving the invoice first the data that we’ll be using to pass through the robot into the invoicing system let’s go ahead and run that robot directly as a playback we can see here we’ll start to load different types of user interfaces gather data it needs and then log into the invoicing system in order to enter the invoice itself as the data exists the robot will be able to succeed easily and save the invoice now if we see and look at some different data here we see a couple different blank spots so pricing and quantity does not exist therefore we’ll look at the workflow solution and here we see the robot launches an instance of a workflow that can be collaborated on back with humans we can see here the two-step workflow we saw earlier represented directly in the workflow solution for our users to execute so after the robot has launched the process let’s go ahead and run that particular user interface the human will then need to read the instructions to man review and locate the read missing data then we make some phone calls use a fax machine do things that humans need to do to get the data and enter it into the invoicing system via the workflow user interface the workflow UI is very flexible and in here we’ve decided to add a checklist for our human to review before submitting the invoice the next step is a time to our next user in the workflow to review the invoicing data automatic prioritization and routing allow this task to be reviewed by the correct individual all the data is entered and the reviewer is able to check off the required steps and submit the review complete when combining robotics with enterprise workflow we have visibility across our entire business operations here you see an end-to-end view of the invoice processing all tasks robotic and human their durations likelihood of occurring and other reviews are all provided out-of-the-box as needed additional business KPIs can be added to the dashboards if in order to track overall business operations in summary when combining tasks or robotic process automation along with overall Enterprise workflow automation business is able to engage and increase automation through using robots when they’re available as well as collaborating with flexible human or robotic orchestration and to end this provides greater speed to market through reuse thank you for watching the demo [Music]
