Challenging complex research problems through our Nottingham fellowships

I enjoy the challenge of applying mathematics
to a real world problem. What drew me to this line of research is the
amazing complex problems that biology presents. We’re trying to work out how an iron channel
works, so that we can understand what will happen when it is blocked by drugs. The fellowship gives you a great opportunity
to take a few years and really concentrate on your research, find new collaborations
and really cement your research and set you up to be a strong independent researcher. The Nottingham research fellowship has a great
cohort program so there’s training activities for all the research fellows. I choose to do the fellowship program at Nottingham because it’s a great place for interdisciplinary research. I would encourage anybody that’s thinking about applying for the Nottingham Research
Fellowship to give it a go. It’s a great opportunity, it’s a supportive environment,
we’re a really friendly department and I’m enjoying it.
