Ask the Dictator: Episode 48 – Nuance Joins the Liberated Learning Consortium

Hi this is Peter and welcome back to “Ask the Dictator”. Today were really excited
to announce that we’ve joined a group called the Liberated Learning Consortium. Liberated
Learning is a group of universities and technology providers around the globe who are focused
on trying to use speech recognition technology to improve the accessibility of learning content,
specifically, lectures trying to make them more accessible, sounds like that’s right
up our alley, doesn’t it? So were excited to participate in this for
a number of reasons: One, we know that somewhere between 10 and
20 percent of all higher-ed students have some kind of a disability where this capability
will help them a great deal. And secondly, we think as we solve these problems of making
these systems work better for these environments we think there’s lots of commercial opportunity
to bring different kinds of solutions to market. So were excited to participate if you’d
like to learn more about the consortium or our involvement we’ll provide a link below
somewhere here and that’s it for ask this dictator this week.
